The Community Foundation of Collier County kicked off this project with a grant to the NAACP to fund architectural work with a $15,000 grant.

The Friends of the Collier County Museum has been awarded a grant from the State of Florida Division of Historical Resources Florida African American Cultural and Historical Grants program for $399,000 to jump-start this project.  The Friends have also pledged $25,000 to the project.

Additional funds will be needed to see it to completion. The Friends are pursuing funding through both the City of Naples and the Collier County Board of County Commissioners.

Your donations will go directly to helping ensure this project comes to fruition, as well as toward creating permanent exhibits and robust programming once the Baggage Car is open to the public.
